Feature Details:
Internet Explorer
-
Remove Cookie - Web sites send
small text files to your browser to keep track
of your on-line sessions. They are particularly
useful when you want a Web site to auto-sign
you into a registration process. However web
sites also use cookies to track you through
the site. With Windows Tracks Washer, you can
select which cookies you want to erase and which
one you want to keep. WARNING: Cookies
may contain information for a customized Web
page or logon information for a Web site. Before
you delete your cookies, you may want to export
or save them. If you are using Internet Explorer
5.0 or later, use the Import/Export Wizard in
Internet Explorer to export your cookies.
- Remove Typed URL
History - The URLs you have typed
in address bar, you can select which one you
want to wash in the "Wash Apart"
form.
- Remove Cache (Temporary Internet
Files) - The Temporary Internet
Files folder is the location on your hard
disk where Web pages and files (such as graphics)
are stored as you view them. This speeds up
the display of pages you frequently visit
or have already seen, because Internet Explorer
can open them from your hard disk instead
of from the Web. But this means that many
megabytes of data of all types get saved to
your hard drive. Anyone who can use your computer
can tell from these files what you have seen
while surfing.
- Remove Visited URL History
- Which keeps an index of the visited web
pages.
When typing URL in address bar, you can see
the related visited URLs.
- Remove AutoComplete
Form - Which stores a record of datas
except passwords that you typed into any web
site form.
- Remove AutoComplete
Password - Which stores a record
of passwords that you typed into any web site
form.
- Remove History
List - The links information for
Web sites and pages visited in previous days
and weeks. Clicking the History button will
show this list.
- Remove Index.dat File
- The Index.dat file in the directory which
stores cookie files.
Microsoft Windows
Items
- Remove Document History
- The history of recent documents that you
have opened. The document history is stored
under the Microsoft Windows Start Button under
the Documents menu item (Start | Documents).
- Remove Find/Search History
- The history of files you have searched for
using the Find/Search program. The Find history
is stored under the Microsoft Windows Start
Button under Find/Search, then File/Folders
menu item (Start | Find/Search | Files/Folders).
- Remove Temporary Files Directory
- The Windows temporary directory (usually
located at C:\windows\temp). This directory
should not be confused with the Internet Explorer
"Temporary Internet Files Directory".
The Windows temporary directory stores temporary
files that are used during installation of
programs and at other various times. Cleaning
this directory regularly is generally a good
idea. (Note: All contents of this directory
are purged during a wash, so be sure that
there are no files contained in this directory
that you wish to keep or that are needed by
other programs).
- Remove Run History - The
history of files you have run using the Run
command. The Run history is stored under the
Microsoft Windows Start Button under the Run
menu item (Start | Run).
- Remove Recycle
Bin - The files that are contained
in the Recycle Bin.
- Remove Clipboard- The information
in the Windows Clipboard.
- Remove Invalid COM/OLE Entries-
The invalid COM/OLE entries.
- Remove Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP
Track- If you have MS-Office 97,
2000, or XP installed on your system, this
option will clean up the "Most Recently
Used" (MRU) lists that are stored.
- Remove Microsoft
Media Player 7.0/8.0/9.0 Track- If
you have Windows Media Player installed on
your system, this option will clean up the
"Most Recently Used" (MRU) lists
that are stored.
